In Treasure Nile, you will discover an Egyptian themed game with a limited number of paylines and with the graphics that prove that it’s an older title. However, despite having certain limitations, it has one advantage that nobody can take away from it, and that’s the progressive jackpot which is winnable inside if you give it a chance. Microgaming is the developer that created this game.
The progressive jackpot is one of the great things about this slot machine, though it also offers wilds and scatters as the only two features. The slot has 5 reels and 9 paylines.
Features of Treasure Nile 5-Reel
The Treasure Nile list of features includes a wild symbol and a scatter, with no other features triggered by their appearance.
The wild symbol does not give away its own prizes, but you can expect it to help other symbols achieve this feat. It does it by substituting for the symbols found on the same line as it is, as long as there are enough of them to form a combo when the wild acts as one of them. The symbols need to appear from left to right or right to left, with 3 symbols being the minimum necessary for a combo (including the wild). However, a wild can’t be part of the progressive jackpot combo and it can’t substitute for a scatter. The image used for it is that of the Pyramids.
The scatter’s image is that of a Scarab. The name of the feature comes from its power to appear in random positions and be able to give the player prizes based on the total number of symbols. If you have three to five Scarabs present on the reels, your reward will be worth between 5x and 50x the wager of that round.
Betting options and jackpots
The line bet is fixed at $0.50, which is the only value allowed for one coin. Since 9 lines are used, you can take the wager from the minimum of $0.50 to a maximum of $4.50.
The game’s best reward is its progressive jackpot, which asks that you use the maximum bet and you get the right five symbols on the 9th payline. The same combo, with five Pharaohs, will offer 6,000 coins ($3,000) on any other line or with another wager.
Design and symbols
While you get the impression that it’s a retro title, especially when you see the number of paylines and how few features there are, the design isn’t that bad. There are no playing cards inside, only themed symbols drawn in a cartoon style which I enjoyed in this case. The background is simple and purple, but the images from the symbols are varied enough and they manage to make the game look good.
Symbols: Pyramids (wild), Scarab (scatter, 50x bet), Pharaoh (6,000 coins), Sphinx (3,000 coins), Anubis (1,500 coins), Ankh Cross (1,000 coins), Necklace (600 coins), Cobra (500 coins), Scroll (150 coins), Pillar (120 coins), Boat (100 coins) and Grain (60 coins).
Is It Worth Playing?
It’s not a bad game, considering that it’s Egyptian themed and there is a lot of competition for it. The low wager requirements and the progressive jackpot which is offered manage to save it though.
Treasure Nile 5-Reel can be found at any Microgaming casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
