A diamond themed slot machine, like Diamond Deal is, doesn’t exactly meet the criteria as a unique game. There are probably hundreds of slot machines out there, which incorporate these precious stones in one form or another, dozens of them being especially themed around them. Microgaming did do something extra for this particular game though, using features to make it memorable, even though theme and design wise it’s not something you will remember tomorrow.
In a lot of ways, this is a simple slot, with 3 reels and 1 line offered inside, but there are also things like the wild symbol or the bonus game, which will change your opinion somewhat. The jackpot is worth $3,000.
Features of Diamond Deal
The slot has a couple of features, one of them predictable, the other a bit more special.
The wild symbol would be the one that’s predictable, being an image of a diamond and awarding the top jackpot when it manages to form its own combination. When only one or two wilds are on a payline, together with one or two matching symbols, they assist them in forming their own combo, by substituting for the third missing symbol. They don’t have multipliers to apply, and they can’t substitute for the Ring Box, but it works with all other symbols.
Bonus Game
The Ring Box, marked with the DD initials on the lid, is a symbol that you collect as you play. Each time you get one of these symbols on a payline, one of the four segments of a diamond will be filled in. Once you have all four visible sides filled in, you get to play the bonus game. A maximum bet has to be used, in order for the bonus game to be accessed.
Once you’re inside the bonus game, you are shown five boxes with diamonds in them, placed on a gorgeous background made out of velvet. You choose just one box, and you get the diamonds inside and the prize that is mentioned.
Betting options and jackpots
The game’s wagers are not that difficult to master. You get to use $1 coins, not more, not less. You can select 1 to 3 coins, so wagers range from $1 to $3. There is only one payline in the game, so there is nothing to select there either.
The slot offers you 3,000 coins if you happen to get the right combo of three Diamond wilds, while using a 3 coin wager. It’s a $3,000 top payout, adequate for the kind of wager that you have to make.
Design and symbols
While diamonds are the inspiration for this game, they’re not that often used in the design. You do have that one symbol with diamonds in it, and you get the logo area with a huge diamond behind the title, but other than that it’s a classic slot machine. A star filled blue sky is placed in the background, and in the front you have the usual slot trinity of logo, reels and paytable.
Symbols: Big Diamond (3,000 coins, wild), Diamond Box (bonus), Blue 7 (300 coins), Three Bar (150 coins), Two Bar (60 coins), One Bar (30 coins) and Cherries (12 coins).
Is It Worth Playing?
The bonus game is the one thing that is different in this slot, compared with every other 3 reel game that has a simple wild inside. I’d say go for it, at least see what it’s all about. It’s going to be a cheap experiment, so it’s worth trying.
You will find Diamond Deal at any online casino which chooses to use software from Microgaming, playable either for free or for real money.
