Fighting Fish Slots

Fighting-FishFighting Fish is a fish themed slot machine, though it has that fighting approach to it as well. The hero of the slot is the Betta fish, which is also known as a Siamese Fighting Fish. The developers from Microgaming decided to take this name and make a real boxing themed title out of it. The action takes place at the bottom of the ocean, but there are both fish and boxing related images on its reels.

The action in Fighting Fish takes place on a 5 reel setup, with 30 lines on them. The features are only a few, but of very good quality, including a re-spin round with multipliers, wild reels and regular wilds, plus scatter symbols. There is also a $12,500 jackpot.

Features of Fighting Fish

The usual wild and scatter symbols are accompanied in this game by a Re-Spin feature.

There are actually two wilds in the game, represented by the two fish that are fighting in the ring. The Red Fish is going to appear on the 2nd reel, while the Blue Fish is reserved for the 4th reel. The fact that the wild is only offered on those two reels is a disadvantage for this game, as most slots will give this feature a lot more power. You don’t get prizes directly from them either.

The Boxing Ring is the scatter symbol, and at least this one is allowed to appear anywhere on the reels. You need a minimum of two if you want to get paid by it, but for the best prize of 100x the bet you need all five.

Re-Spin Feature

The wild symbol gets you this feature, the requirement being for both types of Fish to be present on their own reels, and in the same spin. You have to pick one of the two fish, the one that you think will win the fight. If you choose correctly, the prizes from the re-spin benefit from a 2x multiplier.

Besides the 1x or 2x multiplier that can be applied to all wins, you also get the 2nd and 4th reels with expanded wilds on them. Next, you have 3 re-spins of the three reels that don’t have wilds.

Betting options and jackpots

The betting system has a range of $0.01 to $75. You can use up to 10 coins on each line, and their denomination is also selectable, the range in this case being $0.01 to $0.25. The line bet is at a maximum of $2.50.

With a 5,000x top prize, Fighting Fish can put up to $12,500 in your pocket. The multipliers from the re-spins could improve it though, doubling it if you’re lucky.

Design and symbols

The action in Fighting Fish takes place at the bottom of the ocean, various plants and algae being seen behind the reels, while a bit higher up there are the schools of fish. The reels are in the middle and there are five of them, with the borders between them being made out of rope, the kind that is used in the ring. The design is pretty to look at, but as usual you only get half of the symbols with themed images, the rest being cards.

Is It Worth Playing?

I had a lot of fun with it, especially thanks to the graphics, though the re-spin feature is also well thought out. Give it a try, I’m sure you will not regret the attempt.

You will find Fighting Fish at any online casino which chooses to use software from Microgaming, playable either for free or for real money.
