Spell Bound is a game that seems to be themed around a sorceress. This beautiful redhead is visible in a couple of places, with little else being part of the background. The game was designed by Microgaming’s developers, and in a lot of ways it is a very typical classic slot machine for them. The theme is the only one that sets it apart somewhat, being unique in this category as far as I know.
3 reels are on the screen once Spell Bound loads, with 3 paylines visible on them. The game has a single feature, a wild, but the prizes go up to $30,000.
Features of Spell Bound
You can’t count on slot machines with 3 reels to give you features, as they draw inspiration from the games that used to be played in brick and mortar casinos a couple of decades ago, mechanical machines that didn’t include complications. With the appearance of the digital slots, it’s easy to include features today, but not all classic titles will make the change.
The only feature that Spell Bound offers is a wild symbol. It’s a basic feature, which you can use to create combinations where one of the symbols is missing. The wild can take its place, but only if it appeared on the payline with the other two matching icons. If it’s not on the line, it can’t help out.
Wilds pay better when they are in their own role though. Forming a combo on one of the three lines with three wilds will result in a payout of 1,500 to 6,000 coins, which is the slot’s top jackpot.
Betting options and jackpots
You get to use a classic betting system, at least for Microgaming. Their simpler games tend to use coins that are worth between $0.25 and $5, and since 3 lines are used you get to wager up to 3 coins. The maximum bet is $15.
The top jackpot varies in value, depending on the line on which the symbols have landed. It’s a system which is used in a lot of classic slots with 3 or more lines, and it’s the case here as well. Payouts vary between 1,500 and 6,000 coins, so between $7,500 and $30,000.
Design and symbols
The design of Spell Bound is dominated by the beautiful sorceress. This redhead is visible in the picture behind the logo, and she’s also used for the main symbol of the slot. A couple of other themed symbols are part of the paytable, while the lower paying symbols are the classic Bar icons. It’s an enjoyable game, which is not always true of games with this number of reels.
Symbols: Redhead Sorceress (6,000 coins, wild), Owl (500 coins), Broach (300 coins), Red Three Bar (100 coins), Blue Two Bar (50 coins) and Yellow One Bar (25 coins).
Is It Worth Playing?
Spell Bound is a very normal classic slot in a lot of ways, but its theme is not as easy to find and it does look at least decent. Overall though, not the kind of game that will make you come back for more.
Spell Bound can be found at any Microgaming casino, where you get a chance to play it for real money or in free mode.
